LeBauer Physical Therapy’s Corona Care Plan for Re-Opening

Hi, this is Dr. LeBauer with LeBauer Physical Therapy and hope you’ve been doing well! I know this whole quarantine thing has people kind of sideways, not just in your career, but in life, with your family, and even with your body. Since Coronavirus started, you’ve had either more time or less time to workout and take care of yourself. Maybe you can’t go to the gym, but you’re running a lot. Or maybe you’ve just been stuck at home and now you’re sore and stiff. Or you’re getting back to the gym, but things are hurting or you’ve tweaked your back. Or you’ve kind of got a crick in your neck or something just feels “off”. Your routine has changed, and with more stress, our bodies also tell us that things hurt, but the good news is that pain is complicated and it’s not always due to a physical injury.

You can have pain because your body is in stress, and your body responds to the threat with information or a signal to us. And a lot of times it’s physical pain. Sometimes it’s just feeling stressed or tight.

If this sounds like you, I have good news! We are open to see and serve you. We are able to get you into the clinic, or if you do not feel comfortable going out in public right now, the great news is we do video visits too! If you prefer to be seen in person, we’ve taken the opportunity to set up specific protocols and procedures to be able to bring people like you  into our clinic and help you in person as well.

We are doing this in a couple different ways. We are seeing people in our outdoor studio, as well as indoors, weather permitting. And we can also see you on video if you prefer.

I want to tell you today a little bit about how we are taking care of our patients, how we are greeting people, some of the protocols, and what to expect. Here at the clinic, we are wearing masks. All of our patients are required to wear masks. Even when we’re treating you in our outdoor treatment studio, we wear masks, because we want to protect you as well as us. We’re doing the best we can to keep you as healthy and safe as possible and our staff healthy and safe as possible, because we want to be here to help you. And there’s lots of ways we can help you.

We can even help you without touching you. So if you’re reading this from out of state or out of town, don’t hesitate. We’ve had amazing success with our patients doing virtual video visits. And if you don’t believe me, go check out all our reviews on Facebook, Google, YouTube, and our website.

Here are a couple of things that you can expect during your in person visits.

When you come in for an in person visit, you will not be scheduled back to back with someone else in person. Our in person visits are scheduled every other hour. That gives us plenty of time to clean and disinfect. When you arrive, you’ll text us or call us, let us know you’re here, and we’ll come out and greet you. Then, we’re going to ask you some specific questions based on CDC guidelines, and take your temperature. If for any reason you or us feel like it’s not appropriate to see you, your temperature is over 100.4, or you’ve recently been to a hotspot area, there’s no penalty for rescheduling your appointment to a later date. Then, we’ll reschedule you to a later date and we’ll get on the phone with you or a video and make sure that your progress is continuing to move forward.

If you do need to be seen via video visit, no problem! We accomplish a lot over video. I can even almost touch you through the screen because I can guide you and teach you to treat yourself and I can get all the information I need. Many of our patients prefer the convenience of video visits because they yield the same results as in person in less time!

If you’re reading this, or you’ve seen any of my YouTube videos and you’ve gotten any help from us, just from some of our general videos, then you know that us working together with you one-on-one is going to be even more impactful and powerful for yourself and your body.

Some of the other things that we’ve put in place are social distance markers on the floor, HEPA filters inside each of the treatment rooms, and upgraded filters in the HVAC system. Most of our treatments will be in our outdoor patio studio where it’s shaded. When you’re laying out there and the breeze is blowing, it feels really nice. I’ve been out there and experienced a treatment from Dr. Herzog a couple of times myself, because I need some things worked on like my neck and shoulder, and it’s very nice. Check out our Youtube video to see the space!

We are also doing contactless checkout. Amber will call you on the phone to get payment if we haven’t already got it, and get you scheduled for your next visit. We take your health seriously. We wash our hands before and after. We sanitize our hands before, during, and after. We wear masks. Patients wear masks. And maybe you’re wondering, “Dr. LeBauer, how do I lay face down on a table with a mask on? Won’t that be kind of suffocating?” We figured out an amazing way to drape the head rest, where you can lay your face down, and then take your mask off. We’ve got this nice little pillowcase that is a built in mask, and it feels really, really comfortable and nice. Before you sit up, you put your face mask back on, we treat you.

Using our methods and procedures for evaluating and diagnosing our patients, we’re able to figure out exactly where you hurt, exactly where the problem is, and we know exactly what to do.

We will teach you so that you can do it at home, and we can do it in the shortest time possible to get as much progress to get you back to your goals. We can help you see improvements in your pain and condition, and increase your ability to go to work, play your sports, go back to the gym, and live life without fear of: injuring yourself, tweaking your back, waking up with a crick in your neck, or even the fear that the arthritis is going to keep getting worse.

If you are someone who has been struggling with pain, injury, stiffness, or tightness during Coronavirus, and did not know who was open or where to start, we can help you.

Maybe you’ve been sitting at home suffering from pain or stiffness, or you got back to the gym and now things are really starting to hurt because you’re getting back at it too hard, or like you used to, but things don’t feel right. Maybe you’ve been out doing some new activity with your family or friends, and now something new is tweaked.

I want to invite you to apply for one of our free online discovery visits.

Or if you think that you need to be seen in person, you can contact us and we will get on the phone with you, or one of our physical therapists or pain experts, will get on the phone with you and talk to you about what’s going on and exactly how we might help. And we’ll talk about the next steps to get you closer to reaching your goals!
