Do You Know That You Burn 100 Calories for Every Mile You Walk?

Walking for exercise is one of the most important forms of physical activity you can do. This is a frequent topic and one that I’ve written about many times. It is easy, free, you can do it anywhere and at anytime and it is super duper healthy. Walking just 30 minutes 5 times a week, at a brisk pace, has tremendous health benefits.

Here are links two articles the first titled “30 minutes for life” details the health benefits of a daily walking program.

The second article talks about starting a walking program, what shoes to wear, how to monitor your heart rate, and includes a walking log.

If you have any questions or feel that you need additional guidance before starting an exercise or walking program, our physical therapist in Greensbro is available for same day appointments.
